PRMA Matrix is the name given to the new SharePoint based Intranet for PRMA Consulting based in the UK.   Sei-IS Business Consultancy have managed the design, build and implementation of the project as well as the efforts required to change the business to adopt the new installation which of course is still happening.

Shortly we will be adding a link to SharePoint Boutique who partnered to complete the project.  They will produce a case study for the technical details of the build.  This is just an overview of the project and functionality delivered.  More information available from SteveDalby@sei-is.be .

All projects require a specific level of Business Change to be successful and SharePoint is no exception.  In fact it could be that as SharePoint touches nearly every employee then it is a greater part of the critical project timeline.

We have found that training is the best way to ensure that the investment $, £ or € in your SharePoint project is successful.  However to ensure that the message gets home ot your users we combine this with a medium amount of floor walking to visit the user at their desktop and ensure that they understand what and how SharePoint does.  This ensures that the key messages are delivered in the context of the user and their way or working. On line v Classroom trainingI like practical ideas and solutions.  I live in Flemish-Belgium as a Brit and have watch this wonderful country base it’s decisions on common sense… you purchase bin bags for your rubbish at 5 euro each for a single bin liner… and this bin liner is specific to your local community and rubbish collection contract (use any other 5euro-cent bin liner and it is not collected) so in simple practical terms, you pay for what you throw away.  Recyclable items are placed in cheaper separate bags (which are not collected if they include non-recyclable items)   …Pure practical solution. SharePoint Intranet Specification

Sei-IS was asked to advice a large organisation on using Moss 2007 for their Intranet service. The brief was to deliver Web 2.0 functionality wherever possible on an Intranet that currently showed 28,000 pages listed with nearly half a million files including several thousand videos.
